Cult of the Lamb: Cultist Edition is a unique strategy game that combines roguelite elements with cult management mechanics. Players control a lamb who must establish a cult to appease a mysterious deity known as "The One Who Waits." The game features a rich narrative where players venture through four distinct regions, battling various enemies, termed "heretics," while rescuing and indoctrinating other animals to expand their cult. The randomly generated environments provide resources, perks, and weapons to enhance gameplay.
In addition to combat, players manage their followers in a village setting, assigning them tasks such as gathering resources, building structures, and maintaining faith through rituals and sermons. The player's ability to meet the needs of their followers directly influences the cult's stability, as neglect can lead to dissent and potential rebellion. The narrative unfolds through encounters with powerful Bishops and the ultimate choice of whether to sacrifice the lamb or oppose the deity, leading to multiple endings and post-game content.
